Saskatoon Aikido Dojo Instructors:

Jo practice

Head Instructor

Don Ragush

The head instructor of our dojo is Don Ragush Sensei. He is a 4th degree black belt (Yondan). He has been practicing for more than 20 years and believes that everyone can find what they are looking for in Aikido. His calm demeanor on and off the mat is proof of this as he wants everyone to train to achieve what they seek personally.

In his life off the mats, Don is a nurse and enjoys basketball, running and gardening.

Assistant Instructors:

Saskatoon Aikido Assistant instructors enjoy practicing as much as they enjoy teaching.

Yancy Orchard

Dr. Yancy Orchard is a 3nd degree black belt (Sandan). Ask anyone and they will tell you that Yancy has awesome technique. It's the type of technique you think about for a day or two, (sometimes that is how long it takes for the "feeling" of it to disappear). Yancy also instructs JiuLong Bagua Zhang as taught by Dr. John Painter and he holds a black belt in Karate.

He is a chiropractor in his daily life and has his own practice; some of us are believe he only became a chiropractor to increase his"effectiveness" in martial arts.

Rob Reynolds

Rob Reynolds is a 1st degree black belt (Shodan). Rob has very strong technique and particularly enjoys jiyu-waza (freestyle). A fire-fighter by trade, Rob has studied other arts including Bujinkan Ninjitsu before joining the Aikido club in 1993.

YuLin Pas

Yu Lin Pas is a 1st degree black belt (Shodan). Yu Lin is a healing arts practitioner.

Scott McGibney

Scott McGibney is a 1st degree black belt (Shodan). Scott joined the Saskatoon Aikido Club when it was founded in 1978, but took a twelve year hiatus to be a professional ski bum before retuning to the path. He's now a techno geek by profession and (very) amateur website administrator

Miranda Molnar

Miranda Molnar is our Children's Aikido instructor. She holds the rank of sankyu (3rd level grading)
